Jira Administrator /JIRA DEVELOPERS

Role Overview

The Jira Administrator and Developer roles are responsible for configuring, managing, and optimizing Atlassian environments. The Administrator ensures smooth operations, workflow governance, and user management, while the Developer designs and implements advanced customizations, automation, integrations, and plugins within the Atlassian ecosystem using technical expertise and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
• Create, modify, and optimize workflows, screens, field configurations, and permission schemes.
• Develop custom scripts using Groovy, Java, or Python.
• Build and maintain custom Jira plugins and add-ons.
• Integrate Jira with external systems using REST APIs, webhooks, and middleware.
• Manage user access, roles, groups, and security settings.
• Build dashboards, filters, and reports using JQL.
• Implement and manage automation rules and complex workflow logic.
• Support large-scale migrations, consolidations, and performance tuning.

Requirements

• 3–8 years of experience in Jira Administration or Atlassian Development.
• Strong experience with ScriptRunner and Groovy scripting.
• Hands-on experience developing Jira plugins using Java.
• Strong understanding of Jira REST APIs and integration patterns.
• Experience with JQL, dashboards, and advanced automation.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex configuration, permission, and integration issues.
