Python API Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Python API Developer with 2+ years of professional experience in developing, integrating, and maintaining scalable RESTful APIs and backend applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust RESTful APIs using Python.
• Build backend services using FastAPI or Flask.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
• Work with relational/NoSQL databases and optimize queries.
• Implement authentication, authorization, validation, error handling, and API security.
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Perform API testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams.
• Participate in code reviews and follow development best practices.
• Improve API performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Maintain technical documentation for APIs and backend services.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience in Python backend/API development.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI or Flask REST Framework.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, JSON, and API design.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational databases.
• Good knowledge of SQL and database design.
• Experience with Git/GitHub.
• Familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Understanding of JWT/OAuth2 authentication.
• Knowledge of unit testing and API testing.
• Good understanding of SDLC and coding best practices.

Nice to Have

• Docker and containerized applications.
• AWS, Azure, or GCP experience.
• Redis, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
• CI/CD pipelines.
• Microservices architecture.
• Linux and basic deployment practices.
