Junior Software Engineer

Role Overview

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with senior engineers to design, develop, and maintain back-end services that power ScandVPN’s secure network and client applications. You will implement new features, write clean and testable code, fix bugs, and improve the performance and reliability of existing systems while participating in code reviews and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Implement new features and write clean, testable code.
• Fix bugs and improve performance and reliability of existing systems.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical documentation.
• Work closely with product and QA teams to ensure high-quality releases.
• Monitor system health and support improvements to scalability, security, and user experience.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in Computer Science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with Software Development and Programming using modern languages.
• Knowledge of Back-End Web Development, including APIs, microservices, and databases.
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Interest in security, privacy, and networking technologies like VPNs and encryption.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
