Engineer II, Embedded Software Test

Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic, results‑driven professional who is passionate about product feature testing in R&D product development environment. In this role, you will contribute to the verification and validation of electricity metering products which includes advanced communication protocols. As a key representative of Integration, Verification, and Validation, you will define test specifications, analyze results with scrum teams, and contribute to identifying and resolving firmware-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the firmware development team to define comprehensive test strategies covering functional, performance, and reliability aspects.
• Define, develop, and execute test cases across the product development life cycle, including functional, integration, system, and regression testing.
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts to optimize testing efficiency.
• Perform thorough regression testing and implement robust verification frameworks.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize hardware-software integration.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on product quality and field issues.
• Identify, investigate, and report firmware defects using issue tracking systems like JIRA.
• Oversee communication protocol testing including Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet, BLE, Wi‑Fi, and Zigbee.

Requirements

• Proven experience in firmware verification and validation in embedded systems, specifically Metering Products.
• Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle, V‑model, and Agile practices.
• Exposure to test automation tools and scripting such as LabVIEW, Python, or Robot framework.
• Knowledge of Metrology Standard and Compliance.
• Experience with test management tools like Azure DevOps, JAMA, or JIRA.
• Hands-on experience in operation of 3 Ph Source like MTE, Fluke, or Omicron.
• Basic knowledge in Cyber Security.
• Bachelor/master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Power Systems.
• 4-7 years of working experience in embedded system firmware testing or metering domain.
