Cloud & DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

AvatarX is looking for a Cloud & DevOps Engineer to build, manage, and scale the cloud infrastructure powering the entire AvatarX ecosystem. As one of the first engineering hires, you will establish the cloud architecture, deployment pipelines, monitoring systems, and infrastructure automation that support a growing multi-product platform. Note: This is a night shift position from 9:00 pm to 5:00am.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Manage Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and containerized applications.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Configure networking, security groups, IAM, and cloud resources.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and security.
• Automate deployments, scaling, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize application deployments.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure platform reliability.
• Document infrastructure and operational processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cloud Computing, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud Services.
• Experience with Docker and containerization.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.
• Linux system administration.
• CI/CD using GitHub Actions or similar platforms.
• Networking fundamentals (DNS, Load Balancers, VPC, SSL/TLS).
• Git and GitHub workflows.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
