Role Overview
Siemens Mobility is looking for a DevOps Engineer-Polarion ALM Infrastructure Engineer to join the Platform Engineering department. You will be part of the ALM Platform team, responsible for operating and evolving the Polarion ALM platform worldwide. Your mission is to ensure high availability, security, and performance of business-critical engineering platforms by combining operational excellence with modern cloud and DevOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Operate, administer, and continuously improve the Polarion ALM infrastructure across production and non-production environments.
- Administer Linux-based application servers, including installations, upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
- Support cloud-based infrastructure hosted on AWS and Azure, including networking, load balancing, and security services.
- Manage PostgreSQL databases, Lucene indexes, SVN repositories, and backup/recovery processes.
- Implement enterprise authentication solutions including LDAP, Active Directory, SAML, OAuth/OIDC, and Kerberos.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools.
- Monitor platform health using modern observability tools and perform root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Cloud, Linux, Security, and Networking.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
- 2–4+ years of experience in Linux system administration or enterprise infrastructure operations.
- Strong experience administering RHEL, networking, storage, and operating system services.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications, preferably ALM platforms like Polarion.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with PostgreSQL database administration and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and exposure to Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms like GitLab CI or Jenkins and Infrastructure as Code tools like Ansible or Terraform.
