Role Overview
Sierra Music Studio / Production is looking for a sincere, enthusiastic, diligent and technically curious Audio Engineering Intern who wants to learn how professional audio projects are recorded, edited, mixed and mastered. You will work with experienced producers and audio engineers and gain practical exposure to music recordings, voiceovers, podcasts, jingles and other audio projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing the studio and setting up recording sessions.
- Support engineers during recording sessions and help maintain an organised studio environment.
- Learn how to manage audio sessions, files, tracks, edits and project folders.
- Assist with vocal editing, noise clean-up, timing correction and basic audio preparation.
- Learn the fundamentals of mixing, including volume balance, equalisation, compression, effects, panning and automation.
- Assist with mastering, final audio checks, file exports and delivery of approved projects.
- Help organise session files, backups, stems, mixes and final masters.
- Work respectfully with artists, producers, engineers and clients.
Requirements
- Students, recent graduates, or beginners interested in audio engineering, music production, sound design or recording.
- Candidates with basic knowledge of a Digital Audio Workstation or audio-production tools will be preferred.
- A basic understanding of recording, microphones, sound, mixing or music production is helpful but not essential.
- Good listening skills, attention to detail, patience, discipline and a willingness to learn are important.
- Personal music projects, college work, demo tracks or a portfolio will be an advantage.
