AI Automation Engineer

Role Overview

SmartFin CFO is seeking a skilled and motivated AI Automation Engineer to design, develop, and optimize intelligent business workflows using Low-Code/No-Code platforms. The ideal candidate will automate business processes, integrate multiple SaaS applications, and leverage AI technologies to improve operational efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automation workflows using Make.com or n8n.
• Integrate third-party applications using REST APIs, Webhooks, JSON, and HTTP requests.
• Develop AI-powered automation using OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini APIs.
• Create and optimize structured prompts to generate reliable AI outputs.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve existing automation workflows for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with business and operations teams to identify and automate manual processes.
• Maintain workflow documentation and ensure best practices for automation implementation.
• Test, debug, and deploy automation solutions with minimal downtime.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Make.com or n8n (Zapier is an added advantage).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, Webhooks, JSON, and HTTP protocols.
• Basic scripting knowledge in JavaScript or Python.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM models into automation workflows.
• Familiarity with Airtable, Supabase, or PostgreSQL.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in Automation Engineering, Low-Code/No-Code Development, Operations Engineering, or AI Workflow Automation.
