Specialist Software Engineer - Java

Role Overview

As a Specialist Software Engineer - Java, you will independently design components, develop code, and test scenarios using software craftsmanship principles. You will deliver on all aspects of the SDLC within an Agile environment, ensuring high-quality, reusable clean code and contributing to the continuous improvement of production processes and data models.

Responsibilities

• Independently design components, develop code, and test case scenarios applying software craftsmanship principles.
• Deliver on all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in line with Agile and IT craftsmanship principles.
• Deliver high-quality clean code and design that can be re-used.
• Work with other development teams to define and implement APIs and rules for data access.
• Assess production improvement areas and provide suggestions for automating repetitive activities.
• Perform bug-free release validations and produce metrics, tests, and defect reports.
• Provide level 2/level 3 production support.
• Increase coverage of data models, data dictionary, and data pipeline standards.

Requirements

• 4 - 7 years of professional experience.
• Expertise in Java Backend with Spring Boot.
• Expertise in writing automated tests in Java.
• Working experience with CI/CD setups and tools, preferably GitHub Actions.
• Strong understanding of software craftsmanship and TDD (Test Driven Development).
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Experience in an Agile environment.

Nice to Have

• Basic SQL knowledge.
• Apache Spark and Python knowledge.
