Specialist Software Engineer - .Net

Role Overview

The Specialist Software Engineer - .Net will be responsible for delivering high-quality software products by understanding functional requirements, providing technical designs, and implementing complex requirements within an Agile environment. The ideal candidate focuses on high code quality and follows a test-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Understand functional requirements and raise clarifications with BAs and stakeholders.
• Provide high-level and detailed estimates from functional specifications.
• Provide technical design and implementation for complex requirements.
• Participate in Agile practices including daily scrums, iteration planning, and retrospectives.
• Meticulously review designs, test cases, and code.
• Perform coding, unit testing, and integration testing.

Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of experience in C#, WCF, and WPF.
• Strong .Net fundamentals and threading concepts.
• Working knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, or Sybase (SQL & T-SQL/PL SQL).
• Experience in high-level and low-level design using UML & Design Patterns.
• Experience with unit testing using MbUnit or NUnit.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Object-Oriented design.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Thunderhead, SilverLight, or Reactive Extension framework.
• Experience in the Investment Banking sector.
• Knowledge of automated testing and open-source tools.
