Software Engineer Intern

Role Overview

Sooru AI is an AI-native ConTech company building SpaceSync, a cloud BIM platform that enables architects to transition from spatial programs to coordinated 3D models rapidly. As a Backend Engineer — SDE Intern, you will work on a patent-pending bidirectional sync engine, solving hard systems problems involving real-time collaboration and complex geometry processing.

Responsibilities

• Build and own REST and GraphQL endpoints for design modules.
• Work on the sync engine, including event pipelines, conflict resolution, and consistency between relational and document stores.
• Implement async workloads using Celery for geometry processing and AI inference.
• Extend the real-time collaboration layer using Django Channels and WebSockets.
• Write tests, review PRs, and ship code to production.

Requirements

• Pre-final or final year student, or a recent graduate available full-time in Bengaluru.
• Strong Python fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Django or DRF through projects or coursework.
• Working knowledge of Git.
• Genuine curiosity and problem-solving patience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with GraphQL, Celery, WebSockets, or Redis.
• Exposure to Docker, CI/CD, or AWS.
• Open-source contributions or a strong GitHub profile.
• Interest in geometry, CAD/BIM formats (IFC), or computational design.
