Data Scientist Intern

Role Overview

Support the video analytics team in building models. This is a hands-on learning role for someone early in their computer vision or ML journey who wants real production exposure rather than a purely academic project.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cleaning training datasets from kitchen video footage.
• Run model experiments under the guidance of the Data Scientist and document results.
• Help evaluate model performance and summarize findings.
• Support literature review on relevant computer vision techniques (object detection, action recognition).
• Assist with annotation QA and dataset-statistics reporting.
• Contribute to early prototyping of the Hygiene Trust Score weighting logic.

Requirements

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of Python and basic ML/DL concepts.
• Exposure to PyTorch, TensorFlow, and OpenCV.
• Curiosity about computer vision and willingness to learn fast in a live production environment.

Nice to Have

• Personal projects or coursework involving object detection or image classification.
• Familiarity with Jupyter or Colab-based experimentation workflows.
