Software Engineer, Platform - Delhi, India

Role Overview

Speechify is on a mission to ensure reading is never a barrier to learning. As a member of the Platform team, you will build and maintain critical backend services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, and text-to-speech APIs. This is a key role for a strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced, distributed environments and is passionate about delivering high-impact product decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API and internal services like Payment, Subscription, Auth, and Consumption Tracking.
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate on B2B solutions, focusing on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience.

Requirements

• Proven experience in backend development using TypeScript or Node.js.
• Direct experience with GCP and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
• Efficiency in ideation and implementation, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact.
• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments is preferred.
• Proficiency in deploying high availability applications on Kubernetes is preferred.
