Full-Stack Developer: Internal Tools

Role Overview

StarTech Networks is seeking a Full-Stack Developer to own an internal time-tracking and productivity dashboard used by 200 people. You will be the primary developer responsible for the full stack, including application code, the database, containers, server environments, and deployment via Cloudflare Tunnel. The role involves a mix of maintenance, bug resolution, and developing new features based on management requests.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and resolve bugs for a production time-tracking application.
• Develop new features and extensions following existing code standards.
• Manage the full stack: application code, PostgreSQL database, and Docker containers.
• Handle deployment and infrastructure via Cloudflare Tunnel and Docker Compose.
• Perform data modeling and backend design for new requirements.
• Utilize AI coding tools effectively to accelerate development while maintaining high code quality.

Requirements

• Strong backend development skills, specifically with Python and Flask (or similar frameworks like Django or FastAPI).
• Expertise in writing raw SQL, including joins, indexes, and transactions, without relying on an ORM.
• Practical experience with self-hosting, deployment, and containerization using Docker.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for frontend maintenance.
• Ability to reason about schema changes and backend design.
• Disciplined use of AI tooling to assist in coding and documentation.
