Shopify Developer Intern

Role Overview

Startupvisors is one of India's leading startup communities, connecting over 100,000+ founders, professionals, and entrepreneurs through our ecosystem. We are looking for a passionate Shopify Developer Intern who wants to build real products used by merchants worldwide. This internship offers hands-on experience in developing Shopify themes, creating public Shopify apps, and working with modern AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and customize Shopify themes using Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Build reusable Shopify sections, blocks, snippets, and custom storefront features.
• Assist in developing and maintaining public Shopify apps using the Shopify App framework.
• Work with Shopify Admin APIs, Storefront APIs, GraphQL, REST APIs, Metafields, and Webhooks.
• Integrate third-party services such as payment gateways, shipping providers, CRM, analytics, and marketing tools.
• Optimize storefront performance, Core Web Vitals, SEO, and user experience.
• Debug, test, and deploy Shopify themes and applications.
• Collaborate with designers and product managers to translate UI/UX designs into responsive Shopify experiences.
• Research new Shopify platform updates, AI tools, and developer best practices.
• Use AI development tools such as Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, and GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and code quality.

Requirements

• Experience building Shopify stores or custom themes.
• Strong knowledge of Shopify Liquid.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Familiarity with Shopify CLI and Git workflows.
• Understanding of GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Experience integrating third-party Shopify applications.
• Understanding of responsive web design principles.
• Completed or in the final year of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Ability to commit to a full-time internship for 3 months.
