Node js developer

Role Overview

The SuperHuman Race is a technology start-up that offers Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) automation, alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Experiential Employee Engagement. We are looking to hire a talented Node.js developer to design, build, and maintain the next generation of applications. Your primary focus will be developing high-end backend for the mobile and web applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• Build and optimize database schemas, queries, and integrations with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms using JWT, OAuth, or similar protocols.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow between client and server.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices and coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers.
• Debug and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Optimize application performance through caching strategies, query optimization, and efficient algorithms.
• Contribute to technical documentation, architecture decisions, and system design discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 2-5 years of professional experience in backend development with Node.js.
• Proven track record of building and deploying production-grade applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (eg. Git, Google Services, Firebase Services, Offline Storage).
• Familiarity with various testing tools.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript with a deep understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with Node.js frameworks such as Express.js, NestJS, Fastify, or Koa.
• Hands-on experience with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) databases.
