Role Overview
The Operational Technology Engineer Intern supports the Operational Technology team in the development, testing, maintenance, and improvement of digital manufacturing solutions. This internship provides hands-on experience with manufacturing software applications, data integration, web technologies, databases, and Industry 4.0 initiatives within a global energy leader.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and support of manufacturing software applications and digital solutions.
- Support front-end and back-end development activities under the guidance of experienced team members.
- Assist with software testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Participate in data integration, reporting, and analytics initiatives.
- Collaborate with Operational Technology, Manufacturing, and IT teams on digital improvement projects.
- Help maintain and improve web applications, databases, and system integrations.
- Learn industry best practices related to manufacturing technology and software development.
- Support user training and adoption of digital tools.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of software development concepts through coursework, personal projects, or academic experience.
- Exposure to programming or scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, SQL, or C#.
- Familiarity with databases, APIs, or web technologies is preferred.
- Interest in manufacturing technology, digital transformation, automation, or Industry 4.0.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and business processes.
