Backend Developer Intern

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Node.js Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable server-side applications. You will be responsible for managing the exchange of data between server and users, developing microservices, and integrating core logic with frontend interfaces.

Responsibilities

• API Development: Design, build, and maintain high-performance, secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Database Management: Architect, optimize, and write efficient queries for SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases.
• System Design: Architect scalable microservices or monolithic backend architectures with clean, maintainable code.
• Security & Auth: Implement robust security and data protection protocols (OAuth2, JWT, rate limiting, sanitization).
• Integration: Connect third-party services, webhooks, and payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, AWS S3, etc.).
• Testing & Quality: Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (using Jest, Mocha, or Chai).
• Performance Tuning: Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance and query latency.

Requirements

• Experience: 2-5+ years of professional backend software development experience.
• Core Expertise: Proficient in Node.js and asynchronous programming models. Experience with frameworks like Express.js, NestJS, or Fastify.
• Language Skills: Deep understanding of JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
• Database Knowledge: Hands-on experience with ORMs/ODMs (Prisma, TypeORM, Mongoose) and relational/non-relational databases.
• DevOps & Cloud: Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git and standard collaborative workflows.

Nice to Have

• Experience with event-driven architecture and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, BullMQ).
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, Vue) for full-stack collaboration.
• Understanding of WebSockets for real-time applications.
