Java Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for dynamic, proactive, and responsible Java developers with 3+ years of hands-on experience. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills in Java and related technologies, with a good understanding of both frontend and backend components.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain REST/JSON API endpoints that serve both our web UI and a separate mobile app
• Own the API contract — you are the source of truth for the shape of the data between server and clients
• Build and extend data-dense operational screens using DHTMLX grids and scheduling components
• Work with PostgreSQL including querying and indexing jsonb data
• Extend and maintain SOAP integrations with external pallet networks

Requirements

• Strong Java + Spring Boot (any version; comfort with older versions essential)
• Solid vanilla JavaScript - DOM manipulation, AJAX/fetch, event handling (not framework-dependent)
• PostgreSQL - confident with SQL; jsonb experience a plus
• Competent HTML/CSS for dense tabular/operational UIs
• Ability to pick up a documented component library quickly (we use DHTMLX - prior DHTMLX experience welcome but not required; the ability to learn it from docs is)
• Clear written English and the discipline to document an API - critical given limited live overlap

Nice to have:

• Prior DHTMLX experience
• SOAP / wsdl2java experience
• Exposure to logistics / transport management systems (we'll train, but a head start helps)
• Experience maintaining legacy/established codebases without rewriting them
