SDE II – Backend Focused | MERN Stack

Role Overview

PlotPix is building the stack for the world’s highest-quality AI video production. We are looking for an SDE – Backend Focused with strong MERN stack fundamentals and a genuine interest in building with AI. You will work with Node.js, Express.js, MongoDB, REST APIs, and GCP, while gaining exposure to AI agents, model orchestration, and video AI.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI agent architectures and orchestration workflows.
• Work with AI/video generation models, including experimentation and fine-tuning.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Node.js and Express.js.
• Design and optimize MongoDB/NoSQL databases, schemas, and queries.
• Implement authentication, authorization, OAuth, and API security best practices.
• Optimize backend performance, API response times, and database queries.
• Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external services.
• Contribute to system design, architecture, and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and establish engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with MERN stack, especially Node.js.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript / TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB / NoSQL databases.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Working experience with React.js.
• Experience with Redis / caching.
• Working knowledge of GCP and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with OAuth and payment gateway integrations.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Experience with Git and version control.
