Role Overview
Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and help develop innovative software solutions for scientific instruments. As a Software Engineer III, you'll design and implement sophisticated software applications that control electron microscopes and analytical instruments, working in an agile environment with international teams to enable breakthrough research in semiconductors, life sciences, and materials analysis.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement sophisticated software applications for scientific instruments.
- Work in an agile environment with international teams.
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and domain experts across multiple disciplines.
- Contribute to technical innovation in fields like semiconductors and life sciences.
Requirements
- Advanced degree plus 4 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of experience in software development.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Expertise in object-oriented design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and SAFe framework.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
- Proficiency in automated testing and test-driven development.
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization.
- Ability to travel occasionally (5-10%).
