Engineer - Component Reliability

Role Overview

As an Engineer– Technical Operations at United, you will provide support for a wide range of aircraft reliability, maintenance programs, and other engineering functions. You will analyze the design, operation, maintenance, performance, or repair of aircraft and their components, seeking solutions to optimize maintenance programs and ensure safe, legal operations. This role involves evaluating cost impacts, working with internal and external customers on technical issues, and conducting failure investigations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and decipher large amounts of engineering data to determine root cause and corrective actions.
• Develop solutions, implementation plans, project justifications, and cost/benefit analyses.
• Analyze shop reports and findings to create structured, reliable datasets.
• Manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data to highlight patterns.
• Develop and improve data structures and apply automations to support engineering teams.
• Monitor performance data to ensure quality and adherence to KPIs.
• Develop improved analysis methodologies, analytical dashboards, and automated tools.
• Define and support new engineering use cases by integrating data sources with digital teams.
• Drive continuous improvement through systematic use of tools and techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred Aerospace, Mechanical, or Aeronautical).
• 3 to 5 years of aircraft engineering experience.
• Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis and algorithms clearly.
• Data visualization skills using reporting tools to produce meaningful dashboards.
• Basic awareness of Generative AI technologies (such as GPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or Google Gemini).
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Analytical approach to problem solving with high attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and technical writing skills.
• Legal authorization to work in India.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS Teams.
