Backend Developer - Node.js

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer – Node.js with 3+ years of professional experience in building scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications and REST APIs. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, databases, API development, and server-side application development, along with practical experience in AWS or Linux production environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs
• Implement business logic, validations, authentication, and authorization
• Design and optimize relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Develop reusable and maintainable backend services
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services
• Implement payment gateways, webhooks, email, SMS, and notification services
• Develop background jobs, scheduled tasks, and queue-based processing
• Implement proper error handling, logging, and monitoring
• Optimize API performance, database queries, and server-side processes
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Write unit and integration tests
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and product teams
• Deploy and maintain applications in AWS/Linux server environments

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend/server-side experience
• Strong hands-on with Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, Express.js/NestJS, and REST API development
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB
• Experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) or Linux production servers
• Proficiency with Git, Docker, and Postman
• Bachelor's in CS/IT/Software Engineering
• Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of SDLC
