Junior Software Engineer

Role Overview

Unrivaled is seeking an early-career Jr. Software Engineer to join a collaborative, product-focused engineering team. You will contribute to the technology platform behind a premier professional women’s 3v3 basketball league, working across web platforms, mobile applications, and internal systems to build fan-facing experiences and league operations tools.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance fan-facing product experiences such as player profiles, live scoring, and interactive features.
• Develop internal tools for league operations, content management, and media workflows.
• Contribute to full-stack development including user interfaces, server-side functionality, and database interactions.
• Maintain and improve integrations with third-party platforms and internal services.
• Help build and enhance the Expo/React Native mobile application.
• Troubleshoot bugs, improve performance, and participate in code reviews.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably with customer-facing web applications.
• Strong foundation in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience building applications with React.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive web development.
• Experience with Git, pull requests, and collaborative workflows.
• Experience integrating APIs and debugging production applications.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Next.js and React Native/Expo.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of modern ORMs and API development.
• Utilizing AI-assisted development tools.
