Software Development Intern

Role Overview

Living Things (iCapotech Pvt Ltd) is looking for Software Development Interns for a 6-month full-time internship based in HSR, Bengaluru. Interns will work on two tracks: an IoT Project (Living Bill) focusing on backend services and real-time telemetry, or a CRM / Utility Bill Management track focusing on web app development and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Node.js, Python, or similar technologies.
• Build and improve frontend components using React, Next.js, Vue.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Work with REST APIs, databases, dashboards, logs, and IoT telemetry data.
• Support data flows involving MQTT, Kafka, or similar messaging systems.
• Handle bug fixes, ad hoc feature requests, and root cause analysis (RCA).
• Write clean, readable, and well-tested code and participate in code reviews.
• Document implementation details and setup steps.
• Collaborate with product, operations, firmware, data, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• Pursuing or recently completed B.Tech/B.E., M.Tech, MCA, BCA, B.Sc. CS, or equivalent technical degree.
• Python is mandatory.
• Web app development experience in frontend (React/Next.js/Vue.js) and/or backend (Node.js/Express).
• Prior internship experience or strong hands-on project work demonstrating end-to-end development.
• Ability to explain and own code (AI-generated code without understanding is a disqualifier).
• Basic understanding of SQL or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL).
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and Git.

Nice to Have

• IoT background or exposure to MQTT, Kafka, or event-driven architectures.
• Full-stack profile: Python + JavaScript + React/Next.js + SQL.
• GitHub profile or portfolio with visible end-to-end projects.
• Exposure to Docker, CI/CD, cloud platforms, or monitoring tools.
• Hands-on experience with AI APIs or LLMs.
