Specialist I - Software Engineering

Role Overview

As a Specialist I - Software Engineering at UST, you will engage in hands-on full stack development, building high-quality, clean, and scalable applications. You will drive end-to-end ownership of modules, from design and implementation to deployment and post-release support, while collaborating closely with stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by applying software engineering best practices, including architecture standards, code reviews, and unit testing.
• Develop and maintain front-end components using ReactJS.
• Own technical delivery against project timelines, scope, and quality expectations.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and business teams to understand detailed requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Drive end-to-end ownership of modules/features: design, implementation, test automation, deployment, and post-release support.
• Prepare and maintain technical design documents, process documentation, and deployment guides.
• Provide regular project status updates and communicate risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team engineering standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Hands-on software development experience with a focus on full stack development.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks like ReactJS.
• Experience with Node.js and Express JS for building REST APIs and backend data processing.
• Experience with SQL and hands-on experience with RDBMS systems.
• Understanding of software design principles, modular architecture, and scalable application development.
• Practical experience with unit testing frameworks and code quality tools.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD and deployment practices.
• Knowledge of GIT and Docker.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
