Associate Software Engineer

Role Overview

As an Associate Software Engineer at PrismHR, you will join a team building and supporting client-facing HR, payroll, and benefits applications. The role begins with a heavy emphasis on learning through training, pairing, and mentorship from senior engineers. You will eventually take ownership of writing, testing, debugging, and documenting application code, investigating technical issues, and working with data to support decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Write, test, debug, and document application code as part of a delivery team.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues, including production escalations.
• Work with data through queries, analysis, and reporting.
• Research new technologies and provide actionable recommendations.
• Communicate progress and blockers clearly during team ceremonies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong analytical aptitude and solid Computer Science fundamentals (Data Structures, Algorithms, Databases).
• Ability to write and debug code in at least one programming language.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts.
• A genuine appetite for continuous learning.

Nice to Have

• Internship or project experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, SQL, or Git.
• Exposure to Agile teams.
• Interest in payroll or HR technology.
• Experience debugging existing codebases.
