Data Science Intern

Role Overview

Vera Solutions is seeking a curious and analytical Intern to join our Data team. The intern will work on real-world data projects involving data preparation, analysis, visualization, and statistical modelling, while gaining exposure to data science and data engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection, cleaning, preprocessing, and preparation for analysis
• Perform exploratory data analysis and identify trends, patterns, and insights from datasets
• Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Super Set
• Support the development and evaluation of statistical and machine learning models
• Write SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from different sources
• Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines and analytical solutions
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and insights to stakeholders
• Work with internal teams and clients across different data and business use cases
• Complete assigned tasks and provide regular updates on progress

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or an equivalent field
• Strong fundamentals in Python and SQL
• Basic understanding of statistics and data analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail with good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Able to commit to a 1 year internship
