Oracle PL/SQL Developer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Database Developer proficient in both Oracle PL/SQL and PostgreSQL to join our team in Hyderabad. This role focuses on designing, developing, and migrating robust database solutions, ensuring high performance and data integrity across both platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust Oracle PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
• Develop and refactor database objects, queries, and routines specifically optimized for PostgreSQL environments.
• Analyze existing Oracle database structures, map code dependencies, and assist in converting PL/SQL code to PostgreSQL dialects (PL/pgSQL).
• Troubleshoot slow-running queries, optimize indexing strategies, design table partitioning, and analyze execution plans across both platforms.
• Build and support efficient ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) solutions and data pipelines to ensure seamless data movement.
• Partner with backend developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and business analysts to deliver database changes safely and securely.
• Write clean technical documentation, automated deployment scripts, and standard operating procedures for database rollouts.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database (11g/12c/19c) and advanced PL/SQL development.
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL development concepts, data types, and syntax.
• Mastery of complex SQL syntax, relational database design, data modeling, and normalization principles.
• Experience using execution plans and diagnostic tools (like EXPLAIN and EXPLAIN ANALYZE) to identify and fix performance bottlenecks.
• Competency in Unix/Linux shell scripting to automate routine database tasks and data pipelines.
• Familiarity with code versioning systems (Git/SVN) and basic awareness of Agile/Scrum team workflows.
