Software Engineer Intern

Role Overview

WayCube is building the operating system for everyday commerce, a vendor-first platform featuring a modular plugin ecosystem and a Gemini-powered AI layer. As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work directly with the founders on a production React Native app, owning features end-to-end from development to shipping.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a user alert system using background services and notifications.
• Implement map-first discovery and optimize performance for low-end devices.
• Manage publishing on Android and iOS, including build pipelines and Store updates.
• Integrate various 3rd party services into the platform.
• Work on the AI agent layer involving conversational commerce and automation.

Requirements

• Solid experience with React Native and Expo, having shipped real projects.
• Genuine comfort using the CLI, including EAS builds and debugging native logs.
• Strong ability to read documentation and work independently.
• High attention to detail regarding UI/UX and user experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Firebase.
• Knowledge of AI agents, LLM tooling, Gemini, or RAG.
• A strong UI/UX eye.
