Go Lang Developer Intern

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated GoLang Intern to join our backend engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who has strong hands-on experience with Golang and backend development through academic projects, personal projects, open-source contributions, or prior internship experience. You will have the opportunity to work on scalable APIs, microservices, databases, distributed systems, and cloud-native technologies while collaborating with experienced backend engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services and REST APIs using Golang.
• Write clean, modular, maintainable, and production-quality Go code.
• Develop APIs with appropriate validation, error handling, authentication, and response structures.
• Work with PostgreSQL/MySQL and design efficient database queries.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in application and database layers.
• Implement appropriate caching strategies using Redis where required.
• Work with senior engineers to develop and maintain microservices.
• Write comprehensive unit tests and maintain good test coverage for implemented functionality.
• Debug application issues and participate in root-cause analysis.
• Work with Git-based development workflows, including pull requests and code reviews.
• Assist in building and maintaining Dockerized backend applications.
• Gain hands-on exposure to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployments.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver features end-to-end.

Requirements

• Strong practical knowledge of Golang, beyond basic syntax and tutorials.
• Ability to build a functional backend service/API independently.
• Good understanding of concurrency and how Go handles concurrent workloads.
• Strong programming fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving.
• Understanding of API design, databases, error handling, testing, and debugging.
• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
