Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Design
- Design end-to-end solutions for digital banking, wallet, card issuing/processing, and payment platforms.
- Define application, integration, and data architectures that support business and operational objectives.
- Design cloud-native solutions on AWS with a focus on scalability, resiliency, security, and performance.
- Develop API-first and event-driven architectures supporting real-time and batch transaction processing.
- Define integration patterns across channels, orchestration layers, domain services, partner platforms, ledger, and settlement systems.
- Produce architecture artifacts, solution diagrams, interface specifications, and technical design documentation.
- Participate in architecture reviews and ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, and governance standards.
Banking & Payments Domain Expertise
- Apply domain knowledge across:
- Digital Banking platforms
- Wallet and stored-value systems
- Card issuing, authorization, clearing, and settlement
- Domestic and cross-border payment systems
- Design solutions supporting transaction processing, funds management, reconciliation, settlement, and accounting requirements.
- Ensure architectures address regulatory, compliance, audit, and operational needs.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and partner teams to define solution requirements and controls.
Technical Leadership & Engineering Support
- Provide technical guidance to engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Review designs, code implementation approaches, and integration strategies to ensure architectural alignment.
- Identify and mitigate architectural, performance, scalability, and operational risks.
- Promote engineering best practices, reusable design patterns, and technology standards.
- Support production readiness, observability, resiliency, and operational excellence initiatives.
Requirements
Technical
- Strong experience designing cloud-native solutions on AWS, including:
- Compute (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda)
- API & Integration (API Gateway, Event Bridge, SQS, SNS)
- Data (RDS, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)
- Security & Monitoring (IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail)
- Experience designing API-driven and event-based architecture.
- 7+ Years of strong software architecture design skills.
- Strong experience in Java programming including, Servlets, JDBC, JMS, Spring, Spring JDBC, JEE & Eclipse IDE.
- Knowledge of relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
- Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, scalability, and resiliency patterns.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Ability to create architecture documentation, solution diagrams, and technical specifications.
Domain
- 5+ years of experience in banking, fintech, or payments technology.
- Experience with Digital Banking, Wallets, Cards, and Payments platforms.
- Understanding of payment processing lifecycles, ledgering, settlement, reconciliation, and financial transaction flows.
- Experience working within regulated environments and compliance frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect or equivalent).
- Experience modernizing legacy banking or payment platforms.
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture, Kafka, and cloud-native integration patterns.
