AI and Mobility Internships at IISc

Role Overview

The Centre of Data for Public Good (CDPG) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is an interdisciplinary, translational research centre focused on developing data, digital infrastructure, and AI innovation for public-good outcomes. We are seeking talented, motivated interns to advance our state-of-the-art mobility and transportation platform using simulation, machine learning, and Digital Twin approaches to optimize transportation outcomes in the Indian context.

Responsibilities

• Work on advancing mobility/transportation platforms using simulation and Digital Twin approaches.
• Develop proof-of-concept and prototype demos.
• Optimize traffic signaling, public transport planning, and integrated journey modeling.
• Work autonomously towards technical solutions given a challenge and an approach.
• Potentially contribute to research papers to demonstrate scientific and technical credibility.

Requirements

• Strong interest in a career trajectory in mobility and transportation systems.
• Exposure to Machine Learning, AI, and Digital Twin technologies.
• Very strong programming skills.
• Ability to work in a proactive, detail-oriented, and meticulous manner.
• Good teamwork and self-learning capabilities.
• Mathematical talent is a bonus.
