Job Description
Role Overview
We're looking for a Backend Development Intern to build the core database and API layer powering animal profiles, medical records, and the NGO request-assignment system. This is a founding-team role, where you will independently choose your tech stack, architecture, and tools. You'll own your technical decisions end-to-end.
Responsibilities
- Design and build a database schema for a location-based public welfare application
- Build REST APIs for core app functionality, including profile data retrieval and a request-submission flow
- Implement location-based matching logic to connect users with the right service provider
- Write basic documentation for every module you build
- Meetings with Founder for progress updates and prioritization
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Node.js, Django, or Flask
- Basic SQL or Firebase/Firestore experience
- Familiarity with REST API design
- Git/GitHub workflow
