Junior Backend Developer | Event Discovery & Ticketing Platform

Role Overview

Build the systems and intelligence that power the live entertainment experience. thumpN is an AI-native discovery and ticketing platform that unifies discovery, ticketing, and on-ground tools for fans, artists, venues, and promoters. As we grow into new cities and categories, we need a backend developer who can help build the infrastructure and services that power these experiences—and increasingly, the AI systems that sit on top of them.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship backend services and APIs using Go (Golang).
• Design and implement clean, reliable, and maintainable APIs that power thumpN's web and mobile experiences.
• Work with frontend engineers to understand product requirements and build the services needed to support them.
• Write well-structured code with appropriate error handling, validation, logging, and testing.
• Debug issues across services and understand how different parts of the backend interact.
• Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases to build and maintain data-driven features.
• Write and optimise SQL queries and understand relational data modelling.
• Build and integrate REST APIs and third-party services.
• Work with services such as payments, authentication, notifications, maps, analytics, and other external APIs.
• Help build the next generation of AI-native experiences at thumpN using LLMs, AI APIs, agents, and RAG.
• Take ownership of backend features from development through release and iteration.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience building backend services or applications.
• Strong programming fundamentals and hands-on experience with Go (Golang).
• Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, authentication, and common backend patterns.
• Experience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Understanding of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Redis.
• Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and error handling.
• Experience with Git and collaborative software development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an ownership mindset.
