Historian System and Software Engineer

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end (front-end and back-end) design, development, and maintenance of resource-optimized OT/IT applications for production operations and reporting.
• Oversee the software development lifecycle using CI/CD tools and industry best practices for version control, testing, documentation, and release management.
• Proactively identify application bottlenecks, software bugs, and complex network/protocol issues to drive performance improvements.
• Ensure 24/7 normal operability, application responsiveness, and high system availability as part of a global support team.
• Partner with cross-functional global business stakeholders to translate operational needs into high-impact technical solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting developing industrial software solutions and tools.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA/Control Systems (e.g., iFIX, Siemens PCS7, Wonderware) and industrial protocols (e.g., OPC UA, OPC AE).
• Prior experience working with GE Proficy Historian, GE Plant Applications, and GE iFIX Client development.
• Proficiency in .NET C#, JavaScript, and T-SQL.
• Experience with SQL Server, InfluxDB, RabbitMQ, and Grafana.
• Strong understanding of OT/IT infrastructure, Citrix workspace environments, networking, security, and Azure infrastructure deployment.
