Role Overview
We're a small team building a modern, high-performance web platform, and we want an engineering intern who ships. You'll work directly with the founding team on features that go to production. No sandbox project, no fake tickets. Within your first couple of weeks you'll be opening PRs against the same codebase everyone else works in, with pairing and code review to get you there.
Responsibilities
- Building real UI in Next.js and React - pages and flows that users touch, not internal demos
- Writing type-safe API routes in tRPC and backend services in Hono
- Touching the database directly: schemas, migrations, and queries in PostgreSQL with Prisma
- Wiring up data fetching and server state with TanStack React Query
- Making things responsive and accessible with Tailwind, Shadcn, and Radix
- Integrating third-party services - Clerk for auth, Stripe for payments
- Adding analytics and logging with PostHog and Axiom
- Chasing down SEO and page-performance wins with the marketing team
- Sitting in on architecture discussions and getting your code reviewed properly
Requirements
- Write TypeScript and know your JavaScript fundamentals cold
- Have built something real in React - a side project, hackathon build, freelance gig, or past internship all count
- Understand how the web actually works: HTTP, REST, client vs. server
- Have written SQL and know roughly what a database is doing
- Are comfortable with Git - branches, commits, PRs
- Debug before you ask, and ask clearly when you're actually stuck
- Are fine with priorities changing on a Tuesday because we learned something on Monday
