Backend Developer Intern - Java & Spring Boot

Role Overview

BajriX is a fast-growing marketplace for construction and real estate materials. Our mission is to simplify how buyers discover products and connect with verified suppliers across India. As a Backend Development Intern, you will contribute to the backend systems powering BajriX's buyer, seller, admin, and marketplace applications, working directly with the founders and engineering team on real backend systems and production features used by actual customers.

Responsibilities

• Developing and enhancing backend APIs using Java and Spring Boot
• Designing clean, scalable, and maintainable REST APIs
• Working with PostgreSQL databases
• Designing and modifying database tables, relationships, and schemas
• Writing and optimizing SQL queries
• Implementing business logic for marketplace features
• Building authentication and authorization functionality
• Integrating backend services with frontend and mobile applications
• Implementing validations, exception handling, and API error responses
• Debugging backend issues and fixing production bugs
• Improving API performance and database efficiency
• Writing clean, reusable, and maintainable Java code
• Working with AWS services and cloud infrastructure
• Participating in feature discussions, code reviews, and technical planning
• Testing APIs and validating implemented features
• Collaborating with developers to ship production-ready code

Requirements

• Good hands-on experience with Java
• Good hands-on experience with Spring Boot
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Understanding of REST APIs
• SQL and basic database concepts
• Basic Git knowledge
• Understanding of HTTP methods and status codes
• Basic understanding of backend application architecture
• Problem-solving and debugging skills
