AI/ML Engineer (Intern)

Role Overview

Digital Alpha Platforms is a New York-based data and AI firm focused on financial services. Interns will support the design, prototyping, and deployment of generative AI solutions, focusing on architecting and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Graph RAG pipelines, and developing AI agents for multi-step tasks using LLMs, external tools, and knowledge graphs.

Responsibilities

• R&D of advanced RAG methods (text, graph, multi-modal)
• Building scalable pipelines for transformer model deployment
• Integrating vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Milvus) and libraries (LangChain, LlamaIndex)
• Collaborating with senior engineers; documenting processes
• Designing experiments to benchmark performance

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor s/Master s in CS, AI, ML, or a related field
• Strong Python and experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
• Knowledge of transformer models, embeddings, prompt engineering
• Familiarity with vector DBs, DevOps tools, and AWS
