Role Overview
INDQ is looking for a Firmware / Embedded Systems Engineer to develop reliable, production-ready firmware for medical devices and advanced engineering products. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with ESP32, STM32, Nordic Semiconductor platforms, sensor interfacing, communication protocols, real-time embedded systems, and signal processing. The role involves working from the sensor level to the complete device level, collaborating with hardware, biomedical, and mechanical teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop embedded firmware for ESP32, STM32, Nordic nRF52/nRF53/nRF54 and similar microcontrollers.
- Develop firmware for medical and healthcare devices involving sensors, actuators, displays, and data acquisition systems.
- Interface and acquire data from various sensors including ECG, PPG, Temperature, Pressure, IMUs, and Analog front ends (AFEs).
- Implement signal conditioning and digital signal-processing algorithms for noisy physiological data.
- Develop and debug communication interfaces including UART, SPI, I²C, RS-232/RS-485, CAN/CAN-FD, USB, BLE, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet.
- Develop BLE applications and profiles using Nordic/Zephyr or equivalent platforms.
- Implement real-time control, state-machine-based firmware, and OTA updates.
- Perform hardware bring-up and board-level debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD debuggers.
- Optimize firmware for performance, memory usage, power consumption, and reliability.
- Work within a structured medical-device product-development and quality-management environment.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Embedded C and good knowledge of C++.
- Experience with FreeRTOS, Zephyr RTOS, or other RTOS environments.
- Deep understanding of pointers, structures, bit manipulation, and memory management.
- Practical understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP), including FIR/IIR filters, FFT, and sensor fusion.
- Experience with version control using Git.
- Ability to read communication protocol specifications and implement them at the firmware level.
