As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Cloud Engineering team, you will ensure our AWS-hosted applications are reliable, scalable, and secure. You will collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to design and automate robust cloud solutions. Responsibilities
- Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure for AWS-hosted applications
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform
- Write automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and operational tasks using Python, Shell, or Ruby
- Set up and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting to proactively detect and resolve issues
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, driving post-incident improvements
- Optimize application and system performance in collaboration with development teams
- Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities
- Implement and enforce security best practices for cloud environments
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline implementation for automated deployments
- Maintain thorough documentation of architecture, configurations, and procedures
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role
- Strong proficiency in AWS services and architecture
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Ruby
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
