Role Overview
We are looking for a Backend Developer – Go/Golang to join our technology team and take ownership of backend systems, APIs, integrations, and production workflows. The candidate will work on a production platform with modules covering healthcare, consultations, prescriptions, laboratories, admissions, notifications, provider integrations, and internal operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance backend APIs using Go/Golang.
- Take ownership of backend features from requirement understanding through development, testing, and deployment support.
- Design clean, maintainable, and scalable backend architecture and business logic.
- Work extensively with PostgreSQL for database design, queries, transactions, and data workflows.
- Use Redis for caching and performance optimization where required.
- Work with Docker-based development and deployment environments.
- Integrate third-party services, APIs, healthcare providers, and internal systems.
- Investigate and resolve production bugs and backend issues.
- Analyze application performance and optimize APIs, database queries, and backend processes.
- Ensure APIs are secure, reliable, scalable, and well documented.
- Collaborate closely with Frontend, Mobile, Product, QA, and Operations teams.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain clean coding standards.
- Contribute to improving backend architecture, development practices, monitoring, and reliability.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of professional experience in backend development.
- Hands-on experience with Go/Golang.
- Strong understanding of backend programming concepts and API development.
- Good knowledge of REST APIs and API design principles.
- Practical experience with PostgreSQL and relational database concepts.
- Working knowledge of Redis.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized environments.
- Ability to debug backend and production issues effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to understand an existing codebase and start contributing quickly.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned modules.
- Good understanding of clean code, reusable components, error handling, and maintainable architecture.
