Software/Platform Engineer I

Role Overview

The MetLife EMEA Technology organization is evolving to enable MetLife’s New Frontier strategy. We are seeking a highly skilled Software/Platform Engineer with hands-on experience in IIB/ACE development. This role is responsible for hands-on development, design, and technical solutions primarily based on IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and Microsoft Azure technologies. You will play a key role in the API economy, providing state-of-the-art digital experiences.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in all phases of the SDLC.
• Design and development using Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)/middleware technologies such as IBM’s ACE.
• Deal with system integration and contribute to technical documentation.
• Participate in project planning, design reviews, and code reviews to ensure alignment with architectural specifications.
• Document specifications and translate technical requirements into software application modules.
• Support QA and UAT teams.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Manage relationships and expectations with key project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong experience in designing and developing APIs using Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)/middleware platforms.
• Strong hands-on experience with relational and SQL databases and IBM ACE v11 or more.
• Experience in Linux, ESQL, Java, Web Services, Tomcat, and Spring Boot.
• Knowledge of jQuery, Java, and JavaScript based libraries.
• Experience in Agile & DevOps methodology environments.
• Ability to support CI/CD pipeline setup and operations.
