AI & Quantitative Research Intern

Role Overview

As an AI & Quantitative Research Intern, you will work on real-world projects involving Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, and Quantitative Financial Research. You will help research financial-market data, develop statistical and machine-learning models, conduct experiments, evaluate results, and contribute to the development of OBLIM's market-intelligence systems. This is a hands-on development and research internship where you will work closely with the founder and technical team from the research stage through implementation and testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test machine-learning models for financial and business data.
• Research and implement suitable AI/ML algorithms for different problems.
• Train, evaluate, and improve machine-learning models.
• Perform model validation and error analysis.
• Analyze financial-market datasets using statistical methods including probability, regression, and hypothesis testing.
• Identify patterns, relationships, trends, and anomalies in market data.
• Analyze historical financial time-series data to study returns, volatility, and momentum.
• Transform raw financial data into useful analytical features through feature engineering.
• Design experiments to evaluate quantitative models and perform historical backtesting.
• Work with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG systems, and AI agents for financial-document and news analysis.
• Use Python extensively for data processing, statistical analysis, and model development.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of Python.
• Basic understanding of Machine Learning.
• Strong interest in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
• Understanding of Statistics and Probability.
• Familiarity with NumPy and Pandas.
• Basic knowledge of Scikit-learn.
