Role Overview
Plus People is hiring an experienced AI Research Engineer – Computer Vision & Imaging for a client requirement. We are looking for a research-oriented professional with strong expertise in Computer Vision, Deep Learning and Generative AI.
Responsibilities
- Research and develop solutions for complex computer vision and imaging problems.
- Design, run and evaluate experiments to identify practical and scalable approaches.
- Work on product and apparel imagery, including segmentation, image-to-image transformation, geometry and lighting.
- Develop solutions using classical computer vision and deep learning techniques.
- Work with diffusion models, generative imaging, conditioning and control techniques.
- Fine-tune image generation models, including LoRA fine-tuning.
- Read and evaluate academic research papers and convert promising approaches into working prototypes.
- Define baselines, measurable success criteria and conduct structured experiments.
- Document and report experimental findings, including negative results.
- Collaborate with the AI Architect and Engineering team to transition validated research into production-ready solutions.
- Optimize models and approaches for performance and inference cost.
- Maintain reproducible experiments using Git and experiment tracking tools.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience with a strong research orientation.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with OpenCV, Pillow and/or scikit-image.
- Strong understanding of Computer Vision, including classical CV and deep learning.
- Experience with image segmentation, image-to-image translation, geometry and lighting.
- Working knowledge of diffusion models and generative imaging.
- Experience with conditioning, control techniques and LoRA fine-tuning.
- Ability to read academic papers, evaluate reproducibility and build working prototypes.
- Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable solving complex problems where there is no predefined solution.
- Experience designing experiments with baselines and measurable success criteria.
- Familiarity with Git and experiment tracking tools such as Weights & Biases, MLflow or similar.
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain research findings to technical and non-technical teams.
