Role Overview
As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves creating tailored software solutions by designing, coding, and improving various components within systems or applications. Responsibilities
- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
- Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Maintain and enhance existing software applications to improve performance and user experience.
- Document development processes, code changes, and system configurations to support knowledge sharing and future maintenance.
- Assist junior team members by providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
- Incident & Problem Management, Enhancement Delivery, Governance & SLA Adherence, Monitoring & Proactive Support, Documentation & Knowledge Base, and Continuous Improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in SAP for Retail.
- 15 years full time education.
- Experience with software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
- Familiarity with integration of retail systems and understanding of retail business processes.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Good knowledge in SAP Retail / S/4HANA Retail: Article Master, Site Master, Pricing & Conditions, Promotions.
- Understanding of SAP MM, SD integration points with Retail.
- Exposure to POS CAR is advantageous.
- Ability to read and analyse SAP logs, short dumps, and condition records for issue diagnosis.
- Experience with Fiori apps in a Retail context.
- Proficiency in ITSM tools and SLA-driven support environments.
