Role Overview
AppAgentix is looking for experienced WordPress CMS & PHP Developers to join our development team. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in WordPress, WooCommerce, PHP, APIs, custom plugin development, database management, front-end technologies, and end-to-end web development.
Responsibilities
- Own complete WordPress website development projects from initial development through testing, deployment, and delivery.
- Develop, customize, extend, and maintain WooCommerce stores, including custom add-ons, modifications, APIs, webhooks, and integrations.
- Develop and integrate WooCommerce payment gateways and WordPress APIs.
- Analyze project requirements, identify technical dependencies, and provide realistic estimates and delivery timelines.
- Communicate with clients regarding website changes, layouts, enhancements, bug fixes, technical requirements, and project delivery.
- Handle both back-end and front-end WordPress development with minimal supervision.
- Develop responsive, standards-compliant HTML5 and CSS3 themes for WordPress.
- Demonstrate strong practical knowledge of PHP and WordPress architecture.
- Develop and customize WordPress plugins, widgets, themes, and custom applications.
- Work with third-party and internal APIs and build reliable integrations.
- Use AJAX, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to build interactive and responsive web experiences.
- Mentor and train junior developers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.
- Perform website maintenance, enhancements, upgrades, troubleshooting, and ongoing support for existing WordPress and WooCommerce clients.
- Support testing, debugging, documentation, code reviews, deployment, and overall quality assurance.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of WordPress core functionality, configuration, customization, and development best practices.
- Apply strong programming logic, problem-solving ability, and understanding of data structures.
- Follow clean coding standards, scalable architecture, secure development practices, and modern web development principles.
- Develop and modify custom applications using CMS platforms according to business requirements.
- Work extensively with MySQL databases, including queries, optimization, relationships, and data management.
- Understand the complete web development lifecycle, including design collaboration, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of professional WordPress CMS development experience.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Advanced development knowledge of PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Strong MySQL or other relational database management experience.
- Prior experience working in an IT service-based company.
- Exposure to ASP and web servers such as IIS/Apache is an advantage.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
