Role Overview
As a Performance Test Engineer at Cubic Transportation Systems, you will be capable of managing projects independently from planning through delivery. You will provide expertise in performance testing, scripting, and application monitoring to ensure application scalability and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Performance Test Strategy and Planning: Design and develop comprehensive performance test strategies and plans, including defining test scope, objectives, workload models, performance benchmarks, and success criteria.
- Scripting and Test Execution: Create, enhance, and maintain scalable performance test scripts using JMeter, leveraging custom Java coding for advanced test scenarios. Execute load, stress, spike, endurance, and scalability tests using JMeter and BlazeMeter.
- Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Utilize monitoring and observability tools such as AppDynamics to collect, analyze, and correlate performance metrics. Identify bottlenecks and conduct root cause analysis.
- Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring: Monitor application performance and resource utilization across AWS and Azure environments.
- Reporting and Recommendations: Generate detailed performance test reports and provide practical recommendations to optimize application, database, and infrastructure performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Development, QA, DevOps, SRE, Product, and Operations teams throughout the SDLC.
- Troubleshooting and Optimization: Investigate and resolve performance-related issues across application, middleware, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Innovation and Emerging Technologies: Evaluate and recommend the adoption of the latest performance engineering, observability, and AI-powered testing tools.
