Software Engineer II-Storage

Role Overview

Dive in and do the best work of your career at DigitalOcean. We are looking for an engineer who will help develop and support current and future storage platforms at scale. The Storage Team supports the operations and development of object storage, block volumes, backups and image management. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and operating the systems that power scalable, durable, and high-performance object storage for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with a motivated team of peers to deliver innovative storage solutions
• Supporting the creation and operations of distributed systems at cloud scale
• Programming in Go and other languages
• Consuming from and contributing to free/open source software communities
• Solving interesting problems in a technically rewarding environment
• Sharing responsibility for maintaining the availability and performance of storage products

Requirements

• Knowledge of Object or other distributed Storage and how to scale those solutions
• Familiarity with object storage systems such as MinIO, Ceph, AWS S3, Scality, or similar
• Familiarity with concurrency / parallelism models in a modern programming language
• Experience with gRPC, distributed data stores like Ceph, and storage hardware is a bonus
