Role Overview
The DevOps Engineer at Ed-Admin enables the organization to run scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS while ensuring systems are secure, compliant, and continuously monitored against risks. By driving automation through CI/CD, the DevOps Engineer improves deployment speed and operational efficiency as also supporting business continuity and resilience, ensuring minimal downtime and strong system performance.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure including EC2, EBS, and S3 resources.
- Configure and manage RHEL servers, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance.
- Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment and infrastructure updates.
- Monitor and enhance system security using SIEM tools, IPS/IDS, WAF, and VPN configurations.
- Conduct regular assessments of CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) and apply timely remediation measures.
- Work closely with the CSP (Cloud Service Provider) to maintain compliance and governance through CSPM (Cloud Security Posture Management).
- Set up and manage log monitoring systems to detect anomalies and improve system observability.
- Plan and validate RPO (Recovery Point Objective) and RTO (Recovery Time Objective) targets for business continuity.
- Implement and test Layer 3/4/7 DDoS mitigation strategies to ensure system resilience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a secure, automated, and reliable DevOps environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar cloud infrastructure role.
- Proven hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, EBS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, WAF).
- Strong proficiency with RHEL administration, patch management, and system hardening.
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Expertise in infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible).
- Solid understanding of network security concepts including IPS/IDS, VPNs, firewalls, and Layer 3/4/7 DDoS protection.
- Familiarity with SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, ELK, or AWS GuardDuty) and log monitoring practices.
- Working knowledge of CSPM and vulnerability management tools for CVE analysis and mitigation.
